Complicated AND Fun - OMG Times 3!!!
Fleur, Petit Sirah North Coast 2013 - Napa, CA
Our take: Fleur’s 2013 Petit Sirah is a huuuge premium wine value. Every bottle is a bouquet of flowers AND a box of chocolates, rolled into one!
For those who prefer tasting notes: Chocolate, tobacco and new leather aromas make a dramatic first impression for this full-bodied, and comparatively smooth wine.
Baker & Brain, Pendulum (Red Blend) 2013 - Monterey, CA
Our take: The 2013 vintage is a savory blend of 60% Syrah and 40% Grenache. Get on the Pendulum or get out of the way! One of our best-sellers in the store, and beyond question worthy of a decadent title.
Those with a nose for tasting notes: Black pepper, anise and light violet alongside boysenberry and elderberry fruit on the nose. The palate tightens up into cherry, thyme, marjoram and bay leaf, with very dry elderberry fruit tones.
Felten Cellars, Tannat 2013 - Paso Robles CA
Our take: Steve Felten has spent 40 years as an independent winemaker and has hit the ball out of the park with this very limited, hard to obtain fruit forward and boozy Tannat! Just 12 cases produced and our customers love this wine. Get yours before it’s gone - AND it's almost gone already!
The notes: A robust wine with a deep, ruby color and intense, complex aromas of ripe cherry and cassis, with spicy notes of mint and pepper. Full-bodied with firm acidity, the berry and dark- chocolate flavors lead to a structured and lingering finish.
